Ernest Dean Potter was born October 22, 1930, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Warren Ernest and Flossie Louella Hale. He died Monday, January 11, 2024, at home in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 93 years. Ernie was reared in Tulsa and Parkland, Oklahoma. He served as a Seaman in the US Navy from 1948-1952, primarily on the USS Chevalier, and during the Korean War. He was married March 4, 1953, at White City Baptist Church in Tulsa to Ruby Reamey. He joined Iron Workers Local 584 (Tulsa) in 1952 and traveled the nation as an iron worker and business agent for them, as well as a job superintendent for B&W Boilermakers. He was a talented golfer and could fix anything. He valued his family and friends above all and spent his life caring for them.

Five great-grandchildren; Brandi (Key) Chovanec, Emma Adams, Kellan Kerr, Elijah Potter, and Danny Potter
Four great-great grandchildren; Callie Key and Kyleigh, Lane, & Decker Chovanec
and sister Jean Miller of Chandler, Oklahoma
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, his parents, five siblings, and both of his children; son Danny Potter and daughter Susan McDaniel
Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 7:00pm Tuesday, January 16 at Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso. Funeral service will be held at 10:00am Wednesday, January 17 at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel with Reverend Joshua Kerr officiating. Committal service and interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association – Oklahoma Chapter, 2448 E 81st St, Suite #3000, Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74137.
