Fatality report for the month of November
Department of Public Safety officials report 54 traffic-related fatalities in November 2014 compared to 56 in the same month last year.
There were three motorcyclists and seven pedestrians among those who died in crashes. The highest daily fatality numbers include 14 deaths on Saturdays and 11 on Sundays. There were five days in the month of November with no reported fatalities.
Four of the fatality crashes were alcohol-related. Forty-six of the fatality victims were Oklahoma residents and eight nonresidents. There were 40 male, 14 female victims. Six of the fatality victims were under the age of 20. The 41 – to 50-year-old age group led the fatality count with 15.
Tulsa County led the state with a total of eight fatalities, followed by Oklahoma County with seven. The highest number of fatalities occurred on US highways with 22. There were 11 fatalities on state highways.
Forty-five percent of those who died in traffic collisions were not wearing safety belts at the time of the crash.
