Freda Marie Scharm was a loving mother, nana, and friend. A kindhearted person who enjoyed watching over and caring for all those around her, whether it was her children, family, friends, a neighbor, or the special needs children she served as a bus driver for 22+ years at Claremore Public Schools. She would often encounter her special needs children while out and about in Claremore and she would always make time to talk with them and give them a hug.
People and not earthly possessions were Freda’s passion and lifelong love. Her favorite pastime was to be surrounded by family talking, laughing, and of course eating sweets and drinking unsweet tea. Freda was always playful in spirit, she would pose for funny Snapchat pictures with her granddaughter and she loved joking around with her grandson over just about anything. When not spending time with family, Freda loved to spend time hanging out with her dog Candy and watching Gunsmoke or the Andy Griffith show.
Freda was born December 4, 1949, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, to Sam and Cora Beth Mainka. She spent her childhood years on her family farm in Lindsay, Oklahoma, and graduated from Lindsay High School. She passed from this earth to be with her heavenly father on Thursday, January 13, 2022, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 72 years. While Freda may no longer be here on earth, she leaves behind a legacy of caring and cherished memories with those she leaves behind:
