Frederick “Fred” Milton Osmun, Jr. 10/3/1959 – 7/5/2023
It is with a heavy heart that we write about the passing of a great man…
…is how Fred would have started this had he written it himself.
Frederick Milton Osmun, Jr.; Fred or Freddy, to his friends and family. He was born on October 3rd, 1959 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Frederick Milton Osmun, Sr. and Charlotte Sue Wilcoxson. He was 63 years old, though you’d have never known it. He wasn’t old, he was classic.
Fred was a lover of fine art, good cigars, concerts, the Kansas City Chiefs, and great jokes. He was the funniest person he knew. He was a hunter, a bow fisher, and our modern-day MacGyver. He loved to ride the open road on his Indian motorcycle.
He was a brilliant engineer, spending 37 years in the Aerospace industry. He once hosted a late-night sketch comedy show “exclusively public access”, he was a part-time private investigator, and daily comedian. Ask around. They’ll tell you. He was kind of a big deal.
He is survived by his children, Nicole Gholson (Ryan) and Gabriel Tinsley. Grandchildren; Jordyn Nowlin and Joseph Tinsley. Mother; Charlotte Wilcoxson. Siblings; Trina Bledsoe (DeWayne), Todd Osmun, Kathy Franklin, Rhonda Wolfe, and Kevin Stetler (Brenda), and a host of family, friends, and “fans”. He would have added that last part himself.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Milton Osmun, Sr. and Stepmother, Betty J. Osmun.
