Glenna Jean Green, resident of Owasso, passed from this life on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at the age of 91 years. Glenna was born December 29, 1922 at Tulsa, OK to Glenn Strother and Mabel Faye (Huston) Thomas. She was raised and received her education in Tulsa, graduating from the old East Central High School, where she played basketball and was an All-Conference Guard. On February 16, 1945, Glenna and Robert Ralph Green were united in marriage at Pierce City, Missouri. They made their home in Tulsa until moving to Owasso in 1985. Glenna was a member of the Will Rogers United Methodist Church in Tulsa and during her early years was an active member of Rose Hill United Methodist Church. Besides being a homemaker and mother, she had worked in the cafeteria for East Central HS for 20 years. She was also a past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star, Catoosa chapter. Glenna loved animals, gardening and perfecting her pies.
Those that survive include her sons: John Thomas Green and wife Irene and Kenneth Wade Green and wife Betty, all of Owasso; grandchildren Temple, Bonnie, Lucas and David; as well as great grandchildren Kylar, Lennon, Jennie and Ian. Glenna was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ralph in June of 2013, an infant son and one brother Jim Thomas.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, November 26, 2014 in the Chapel of Mowery Funeral Service with Pastor Scott Palmer officiating. Glenna will be laid to rest next to her husband on Friday, November 28th in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa.
