Grace Evelyn “Dickey” Klahr was born January 6, 1928, on a ranch in Ainsworth, Nebraska to Henry and Evelyn Hill Mooberry, the youngest of seven children. She died Sunday, March 16, 2025, in Joplin, Missouri, at the age of 97 years. Dickey spent time growing up in the country, completing her secondary education in Missouri graduating with the Niangua High School Class of 1945. She continued her education at Missouri Southern College in Joplin, Missouri.
Dickey spent over 34 years as a seamstress and men’s clothing tailor, retiring from Clark’s Good Clothing in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1983. She was married August 1, 1978, in Tulsa, to Donald Franklin Klahr. Dickey was a strong woman of faith and was and longtime active member of First Christian Church in Owasso, Oklahoma. She loved her church and her church family. She dedicated her life to serving others, volunteering eight years with Meals on Wheels, and countless hours making visits to the hospital and shut ins.
Dickey dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren who she loved spending time with. They always enjoyed her stories of her growing up on the farm and the things that happened as a young girl. One of her favorite pastimes was going fishing and traveling with her husband Don. Dickey was known as an excellent cook and having her family come over for visits. She was of Irish heritage, and was proud of it!

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Don, sisters, Margaret Mooberry, Melba Glasspie, Wauneata Day, and Myrtle Fallis, and two brothers, Mike Mooberry and Henry Mooberry.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Pastor Matt Thomason officiating. Final resting place will be next to her husband Don at Fairview Cemetery in Owasso, Oklahoma. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
