Heather Lauren Jackson Merrell, 36, of Owasso, Oklahoma, formerly of Green Creek, passed away, Monday, June 24, 2024.

Born in Rutherfordton, North Carolina on March 20, 1988, she was the daughter of Donald Jackson and Manda Earley Jackson of Green Creek, North Carolina. Heather was a 2006 graduate of Polk County High School and went on to graduate from St. Andrews College in 2010 and met the love of her life, Chandler Merrell. Heather brought joy and light to this world.

She created a legacy of compassion and grace, through her lifelong passion for rehabilitating horses and using them to help others find their way. Heather was able to use her horsemanship as a ministry to meet the worldly needs of others but most importantly by showing them Jesus’ love. Heather was a member of The Bible Church of Owasso, Oklahoma.

Heather was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, James Jackson; maternal grandparents, Charles Earley and Joyce Fellows Earley.

Surviving in addition to her parents is her husband of 14 years, Chandler Merrell; two sons, Jackson Chandler Merrell and Levi Scott Merrell both of the home; one sister, India Jackson of Laurel Hill, North Carolina; paternal grandmother, Margaret Jones Jackson Gosnell of Columbus; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gregory Merrell and Linda Merrell of Claremore, Oklahoma; one brother-in-law, Matthew Merrell of Owasso, Oklahoma.
