Hilda Chaudoin was born November 8, 1925, in Moodys, Oklahoma, just north of Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She passed from this life on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at North County Nursing Center in Collinsville, Oklahoma, at the age of 87 years. Hilda was raised by her mother, Elva Johnson and Clyde Johnson on the family farm along with her two brothers, Dale Johnson and James Clint Johnson. She was affectionately called “Higgie” and lived in this small community among her relatives and friends until her graduation from Tahlequah High School. At age 18, she and several young women moved to Washington D.C. to work as secretaries during the war efforts. Upon returning to Tulsa, she worked as a secretary at Magnita Ignition until her retirement. She was a faithful member of 10th and Rockford Church of Christ while living in Tulsa. Having no children of her own, she took delight in the lives of her niece Kresta and her nephew Kerry. Hilda was a quiet person and never wanted to impose on others. She enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed the many family and school reunions that she attended. Her life was greatly enriched by her family and relatives, including:
Brother and sister-in-law; Dale and Sandra Johnson, of Owasso, Oklahoma
Niece; Kresta Bowman, her husband Tim, and their children, Pyper-Daley and
Stryder, all of Owasso
Nephew; Kerry Johnson, of Denver, Colorado
Along with many cousins and host of other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Dr. J.C. Johnson.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2013, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2013, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Tim Bowman officiating. Committal services and interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The family would like to thank the staff at North County Nursing Center for caring and treating her so very special during her stay there. It was a pleasant time her. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
