Jerry Lee Hounshell was born July 23, 1952, in Pennington Gap, Virginia, to Olen (Dee) DeWitt Hounshell and Juanita Gibbs Hounshell. He died Saturday, March 15, 2025, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, at the age of 72 years. Jerry completed his secondary education in Dayton, Ohio, and graduated with the Kiser High School Class of 1970 and was honored to be named the Homecoming King. He spent most of his professional career as an airline ramp trainer with United Airlines, retiring after 38 years of service.
Jerry was married April 10, 2005, in Colorado, to Lynn Johnson. After making their home in Ramona, Oklahoma, he became a member of First Baptist Church Owasso. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes including music and playing the guitar. Spending time outdoors working in his garden was also an enjoyable pastime. He liked to travel, especially going on cruises. Jerry dearly loved his family, in particular his grandchildren who affectionately knew him as “Papa”.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dee and Juanita Hounshell, and sister, Betty Spencer.
Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Owasso with Brayden Peckham and Pastor Chris Wall officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Nick Hounshell, Jacob Ahrend, Ashton Hounshell, Keith Johnson, Damon Hounshell, Matt Hounshell, and Wayne Hounshell. Committal service and interment will follow at Ramona Cemetery in Ramona, Oklahoma.
