Jess Ray Davis Jr, longtime Owasso resident passed from this life on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa. He was 69 years of age. Jess was born February 2, 1947 in Claremore, OK to Jess Ray and June Travis (Hatcher) Davis. He was raised and received his education in Tulsa, graduating from East Central High School. Jess then continued his education at the University of Tulsa where he received his bachelor’s degree in Business. On August 9, 1973 Jess was united in marriage to Peggy Ann Rice. To this union, twin children were born. They spent their early married life in Tulsa before moving to Owasso in 1977. Jess retired from the Williams Company, where he worked as a supervisor. In his spare time, he enjoyed geography, genealogy and crossword puzzles.
Jess is survived by his wife Peggy; children Michelle Davis of Tulsa and Jess Ray Davis, III of Owasso; his mother June Davis of Columbus, Kansas; and one sister Bunny Speer. Preceding him in death was his father, a brother Jack Davis and a sister Jan Speer.
Services for Jess will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 11th in the chapel of Mowery Funeral Service, Owasso. There will be no visitation. Jess will be entombed in the mausoleum of Oakhaven Memorial Gardens in Claremore. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso. www.moweryfs.com
