Iconic rockers to play The Joint inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa
TULSA, Okla. – When it comes to female rockers, Joan Jett is an originator and a visionary who led the charge for hard charging, in-your-face rock ‘n’ roll. On Nov. 1, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts will play her greatest hits at The Joint inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
Tickets start at $40 and go on sale Aug. 15.
Jett has released eight platinum and gold albums and nine Top 40 singles. Her most recent release is 2010’s “Greatest Hits,” which features 20 tracks, including “Cherry Bomb,” “Bad Reputation,” “I Love Rock ‘N’ Roll,” “I Hate Myself For Loving You” and “Crimson and Clover.”
She broke into the music scene in 1975 as a founding member of the pioneering all-girl teenage punk band The Runaways, which released five albums and became a worldwide hit before disbanding in 1979. The 2010 film “The Runaways” told the band’s story, with A-lister Kristen Stewart portraying Jett.
Today, Jett is continuously touring the world and running her own independent label, Blackheart Records, which she launched in 1980, making her the first female artist to own and operate an independent record company.
In 2003, “Rolling Stone” ranked her No. 87 of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time. She and Joni Mitchell were the only two women on the list.
