Kathryn Louise Freeman, longtime resident of Collinsville, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2013 at The Homestead of Owasso. She was 93 years of age. Kathryn was born in Collinsville on July 20, 1920 to Clarence and Ada (Detwiler) DeHaven. She was raised and received her education there. On October 14, 1938, Kathryn and Robert E. Freeman, JR were united in marriage in Benton County, Arkansas. They made their home in Tulsa before moving to Long Beach, CA. Following an eye injury to Mr. Freeman, they moved to Dryden, Texas before returning to Tulsa in 1947. They made Collinsville home in the 1960’s. Kathryn worked as a creditinformation officer for Fourth National Bank for many years, retiring in 1985. Kathryn was a longtime member of the Collinsville First Baptist Church, having been baptized at the age of 12. She enjoyed arts and crafts, especially ceramics and was gifted with her hands doing needlepoint and crocheting. 

Kathryn is survived by a son – James Freeman and wife Terry of Tulsa; a sister Norma Blunt of Collinsville; four grandchildren – James Freeman, II and wife Darlene of Halifax, PA, Tracy Bartlett and husband Lon of Tulsa, Robert E. Freeman, IV and wife Ruth of Tennessee and David Freeman of Tulsa. Also surviving are four great grandchildren – Talen James Bartlett, Cory Alan Bartlett, Dakota Freeman and Gracie Freeman; and a daughter in law Paula Freeman of Tulsa. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert E. Freeman, JR, a son Robert E. Freeman, III and a sister Mary Mosier.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 18, 2013 in the Chapel of Mowery Funeral Service. Burial will follow at the Ridgelawn Cemetery, Collinsville. Visitation for Kathryn was from 1pm – 8pm Tuesday, Sept. 17th at the funeral home. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
