Lawrence Wayne “Larry” Yard was born April 27, 1941, at Barkeyville, Pennsylvania, to Alton Wayne and Grace Rainey Yard. He died Saturday, April 1, 2017, in Claremore, Oklahoma, at the age of 75 years. Larry was reared and educated in Clintonville, Pennsylvania, and graduated with the Victory Joint High School Class of 1960. He married his high school sweetheart September 22, 1962, in Clintonville, Pennsylvania, Wilda Eileen Johnson. They had made their home in Skiatook, Oklahoma, from 1968 to 1995, before moving to their lake home at Oologah Lake. Larry continued his education at the Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He spent most of his working life with American Airlines as an instrument mechanic until his retirement in 2001. He was a member of the Transport Workers Union Local #514. Larry and Wilda enjoyed retirement living together traveling in their RV spending summers in Pennsylvania and winters in Florida. He loved to sit outside his home enjoying his lake view watching the birds, visiting his family, and drinking his favorite drink, Pepsi. He was an avid NASCAR fan and was especially fond of corvettes.

Two sisters-in-law;
Lucille Keith, of Beaumont, Texas
Mary Lou Sloan, of Franklin, Pennsylvania
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Grace Yard.
Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Pastor Leonard Pirtle officiating. Private family disposition will be held at a later date in Barkeyville, Pennsylvania. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Larry’s memory to John 3:16 Mission, 506 North Cheyenne Avenue, Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74103. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
