Lonnie Stephens, 81 of Ramona, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2016 in a Tulsa hospital. Hewas born August 23, 1934 near McAlester, Oklahoma in Pittsburg County to the late James FranklinStephens and Nettie Anna Stovall Stephens. Lonnie was a buyer, collector and trader of Cub Cadet tractors, in fact he had a business called “Lonnie’s Cub Cadet”. He loved the outdoors and spending quality time with his K-9 companion, Ebony. He loved to talk and could carry on long conversations with people over the phone and in person. He was a former employee of McDonnell Douglas in Tulsa where he worked as a mechanic for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Velma Laughlin Stephens of the home; two sons, Robert D. Stephens and wife Barbara of Okmulgee, Oklahoma and Ronnie A. Stephens of Collinsville, Oklahoma; one daughter, Becky Gray and husband Charles of Collinsville, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; ten great- grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Leon Brock and Edward Parker.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Dighton-Moore Funeral Service, 116 N. Main Street, Owasso, Oklahoma 74055. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 8, 2016 at First United Methodist Church, 203 W 16th St, Owasso, OK 74055 with Pastor Chuck Horton officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
