05/02/2018 – Owasso girls season ended with a 2-0 loss to Jenks on Tuesday night in the first round of state playoffs.
We finished really strong and I was really proud of the kids because they played their tails off but came up short. I thought we had the better play the first half but we were just unable to score a goal. A ot of credit to Jenks goal keeper for keeping the score tied at half with 2 great saves. Jenks scored about 10 minutes into second half and then with about 5 seconds left in the game. I thought we played one of our better games all year but we just couldn’t make the play we needed.
It has been a frustrating year with all the injuries and having to juggle the lineup for various reasons. Jenks made the plays and they advanced.
Although disappointed with the final result, the seniors have had a great career in winning 3 district championships, 1 state runner-up, 1 state semifinalist and made the playoffs 4 straight years. They more than left their legacy in the program and gave everything they could tonight. They represented Owasso with class in winning and losing. The seniors are ready to go out and accomplish great things in life and the younger kids will get back to work and try to make the correction s for next year.
It is the journey they will remember not the final destination. RAMS FOR LIFE!
