Lynda Janet Strode was born December 8, 1940, in Elm Springs, Arkansas, to James Harley and Margaret Francis (Patton) Baird. She died Friday, May 6, 2016, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 75 years. Lynda was educated in Springdale, Arkansas, and graduated with the Springdale High School Class of 1959. She was married February 14, 1964, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Gary Wayne Strode. Lynda spent most of her working life around the home raising her two wonderful children. She was a faithful member of Discovery Bible Fellowship Church (aka Westport Mennonite Brethren Church) in Collinsville as well as a member of the Early Ford V-8 Club. Lynda earned the title of Master Gardener and Linnaeus Gardener working mostly in the gardens at Woodward Park in Tulsa, as well as applying her green thumb around the house. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes including quilting, baking and gardening, but most of all she loved her family.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Buddy Lindell Baird.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, May 9, 2016, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at Discovery Bible Fellowship Church in Collinsville with Pastor Mike Frantz officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Rusty Baird, Larry Stokes, David Scott, Terry Sandford, John Lazzaro and Jim Strode. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Elm Springs Cemetery in Elm Springs, Arkansas. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
