On Thursday, January 29th, 2015 at approximately 9:40PM Owasso Police responded to a reported rollover injury motor vehicle collision near the 7600 block North or US169 in Owasso.
Witnesses advised the collision caused one of the vehicles to flip and roll several times before coming to rest in the median of the highway. Owasso Fire Paramedics responded for extrication and treatment of the victim inside the rolled vehicle. That female was transported in critical condition to an area hospital.
The driver of the 2nd vehicle involved fled the scene but was stopped minutes later near 86th St N and 123rd E Ave. in Owasso by Owasso Police. That vehicle had sustained major damage. After a brief struggle with police that driver, Brittain Harrison of Claremore OK, was taken into custody for Leaving the Scene of an Injury Collision, Resisting Arrest, Driving Under the Influence, related traffic charges and Child Endangerment. The Child Endangerment charge stemmed from the finding of an unrestrained small juvenile inside the suspect vehicle by police. That juvenile was taken into protective custody by police. As of the morning of January 30th US 169 is open and clear in both directions.
