Mark Edward Abshire was born July 29, 1970, in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, to William Alexander Abshire and Alice Jean Ririe Abshire. He died Sunday, May 19, 2024, in Collinsville, Oklahoma, at the age of 53 years. Mark completed his secondary education in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and graduated with the Bartlesville High School Class of 1988. He continued his education at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma. Mark was married April 29, 2006, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, to Melissa Renae Gorell.
Mark spent his professional career as Vice-president of services with KGM Gas. Having come from a military family, Mark was a very patriotic soul and dearly loved his country. He was a man of faith and was a member of First Baptist Church in Owasso. Mark was a proud member of the Osage Nation. His maternal grandfather and great grandmother were original tribal allotees.
Mark enjoyed a variety of pastimes including time spent outdoors fishing and hunting. He was also an avid sports fan of the Oklahoma City Thunder and his beloved Oklahoma Sooners. He especially enjoyed attending and watching his kids’ sporting events and activities.

He was preceded in death by father, Sandy Abshire, and daughter, Isabella Abshire.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Owasso with Pastor Chris Wall officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Kane Abshire, Kason Abshire, Todd Abshire, Rory Abshire, Gavyn Abshire, and Dustin Gorrell. Committal service and interment will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville, Oklahoma. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Mark’s memory to Collinsville Boys Basketball, 2400 West Broadway, Collinsville, Oklahoma, 74021.
