Norma Jean Whitaker was born April 27, 1927, in Pawnee County, Oklahoma, to James Clifford Wadlow and Georgia Mae McNabb Wadlow. She died Thursday, December 22, 2022, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 95 years. Norma completed her secondary education in Blackburn, Oklahoma, and graduated with the Blackburn High School Class of 1944. She was married April 9, 1946, in Winfield, Kansas, to Gale Whitaker. They had made their home in Owasso, Oklahoma, since 1986. Norma spent most of her professional career as a broker and real estate agent. She was a strong woman of faith and was an active member of First Baptist Church in Owasso. She had taught Sunday school, traveled on mission trips, and had served as President of the Women’s Missionary Society. She and Gale enjoyed traveling together, especially with their friends with the Good Sam’s. While living at the Baptist Village in Owasso, Norma was in charge of the Village store for over 32 years.

Kelly Whitaker and wife Erika, of Boulder, Colorado
Katie Trevino and husband Jonathan, of Edmonds, Washington

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gale Whitaker, brother, Kenneth Wadlow, and sister, Margaret Caudle.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 29, 2022, at the Alsup Chapel of Baptist Village in Owasso with Pastor Chris Wall officiating. Her final resting place will be next to her husband Gale in the Heritage Mausoleum of Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Adams Fund at Baptist Village, 7410 North 127th East Avenue, Owasso, Oklahoma, 74055.
