Norma Jeanne Potter, resident of Owasso, passed from this life to her heavenly home on Monday, December 12, 2016. She was 90 years of age. Norma was born on December 4, 1926, at Winfield, Kansas, to Ellis and Iva Rounds. She was raised and received her education in Winfield, graduating from high school there. Norma later attended Southwestern College. She met John L. Potter, after seeing him in his Navy uniform, and they were married on August 18, 1946, in Winfield. During their married life, they made their home in Kansas, Texas and for most of the time in Oklahoma. They moved to the Owasso Baptist Village 10 years ago. Norma was a member of the First Baptist Church of Owasso and enjoyed singing. During her earlier years she enjoyed water skiing; but she was happiest when taking care of her husband, sons and especially her grandsons.
Norma is survived by her husband of 70 years – John; two sons – Robin Potter of Owasso and Ronald Potter of Houston, TX and two grandsons – Andrew and Matthew. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, December 19, 2016, at the Alsup Chapel at the Owasso Baptist Village with Pastor Chris Wall officiating. Special music will be provided by Paul & Jamie Purifoy and Chad & Londa Balthrop. Services and cremation were under the care of Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso. www.moweryfs.com
