Summit to focus on northeast Oklahoma’s future economy
Northeast Oklahoma Regional Alliance annual summit returns to Tahlequah
TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — Mark your calendars now to join the Northeast Oklahoma Regional Alliance at the 5th Annual Regional Summit on Oct. 8 in Tahlequah at Northeastern State University. The summit will be held in the University Center on the NSU campus and registration begins at 8 a.m., with the first speaker beginning at 9 a.m.
The summit covers a variety of issues for business, education, civic and community leaders. This year’s theme is Building Tomorrow’s Communities Today. Guest speakers from throughout the state and local region are set to discuss topics ranging from the future of health care and education to infrastructure and promoting innovation.
Keynote speaker, Dr. Andy Hines, a futurist and executive-in-residence at the University of Houston’s graduate program, will explore the future of northeast Oklahoma communities and the steps necessary to prepare the region for the future of workforce, development, innovation and infrastructure.
NORA is also hosting an evening dinner featuring Bob Dotson, NBC news correspondent who is featured regularly on the “Today” show and other NBC news programs. After the dinner, Dotson will host a book signing for event attendees.
Registration is $75 for the full-day conference, including breakfast and lunch. Tickets for the evening dinner are $30 with summit registration, or $40 without. All tickets can be purchased online or by emailing rstand@cherokee.org.
