OKC Thunder T-shirts for Tulsa Blood Donors – Monday, Dec. 28
December 12, 2015 ─ The Oklahoma City Thunder’s eighth annual holiday blood drive with Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) is Monday, Dec. 28, at theTulsa Donor Center, 4601 E. 81st St.. Doors open at 10 a.m. with donors welcome until 6 p.m. Each donor will receive a free hot dog and Thunder-themed T-shirt, while supplies last. One lucky donor will win a pair of lower-level tickets to an upcoming Thunder home game and a one-night hotel stay*. To receive the Thunder Experience donors will also have the opportunity to hang out in the OG&E ThunderBolt Trailer 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. During this time, donors can play on the Thunder Trivia Station, take photos in the Thunder Photo Booth, see what the Thunder locker room looks like and see how they measure up to the Thunder players!
“When it’s hardest to keep the blood supply strong, the Oklahoma City Thunder comes to our rescue,” said Jan Laub, Oklahoma Blood Institute Tulsa, Executive Director. “Blood donation declines due to travels and holiday activities. Unfortunately, people facing critical health challenges in our area get no such break. The need for blood never takes a holiday.”
Oklahoma Blood Institute is the state’s local non-profit blood center. Its volunteer donors provide every drop of blood for patients in 154 medical facilities across Oklahoma including Saint Francis Health System, all VA, Indian & Children’s hospitals. Each donation provides life-saving blood for up to three Oklahomans.
Healthy adults, 16 and older, are encouraged to donate**. Blood can be given every 56 days. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 1-877-340-8777, or visiting www.obi.org.
