02/28/2025 – OWASSO, OK – Local 8th grader Macy Nelson is making waves in the literary world with the recent publication of her debut fantasy novel. What started as an exciting personal milestone quickly turned into a community-wide celebration, and now Macy has been invited to be a featured reader at an upcoming event at The Gathering Place in Tulsa.

Macy’s journey as a published author began in late December when she released her novel, which has since gained widespread attention. After sharing the news with her teachers, the Owasso 8th Grade Center (8GC) organized a book signing event for her earlier this month.
