09/17/2018 – Sunday evening, September 16th, a man called 911 to say he was just the victim of a robbery attempt in the parking lot of the Owasso Walmart Super Center.
The victim, age 75, reported that he was on foot when a white SUV pulled up next to him and a younger white male stated he had a gun. The suspect allegedly demanded the victim’s wallet, but the victim told suspect no and walked away telling his wife to call the police. The suspect drove away and victim got license plate number, which returned to a Chevrolet Equinox registered to John David White. The Victim was able to positively identify White as the person who had attempted to rob him in the parking lot.
The address registered on the vehicle was just outside of Owasso in rural Tulsa County. Officers from Owasso and Tulsa Police departments as well as Deputies from the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office and Troopers from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to the alleged suspect’s address. The Tulsa Police Department helicopter also assisted by providing air cover for the officers.
Upon being prompted to do so, White came out of house without incident. White was arrested for Armed Robbery AFCF. He is currently being held in the Tulsa County Jail on 100,000 bond.
