Owasso Police arrested Shannon Crawford, 37, for selling drugs she found in her son, Tommy Burlison, age 20’s vehicle, reportedly to raise money to bail him out of jail on drug related charges.
At a around 4:00 a.m. Thursday June 23, 2016 Owasso Police were called to Best Western Motel for a burglary from auto call.
The burglary victim said someone had broken into his vehicle overnight stealing his debit card, drivers license, social security card and more. He reported his card had been used at QuikTrip at 96th Street North and Garnett. Surveillance video led them to Burlison, who was staying at the Best Western.
Burlison was found in a room at the motel with a bag containing over 200 grams of marijuana, small baggies of marijuana, a scale, a bong and over $1,000 in small bills. They say they also found the charging and auxiliary cables stolen from the victims vehicle. They booked Burlison into jail on multiple complaints, including possession of drugs within 1,000 feet of a child care center with intent to distribute.
Later in the day on Thursday, Owasso Police were tipped that Burlison’s mother, Shannon Crawford, was selling drugs to raise money to bond her son out of jail.
Police set up surveillance and pulled her over after seeing her leave in a car. Crawford told police she found the drugs in her sons vehicle and was trying to get rid of them. Officers recognized Crawford as a former detention officer .
The arrest report states Crawford stated three of her children aged 1-15 were at home with Crawford’s mother. Police requested she call her mother to have her remove the children from the home. Crawford then consented to a search of the home where they reported finding a duffle bag in a closet. They say the duffle bag contained 200 grams of marijuana, hits of acid and other drugs.
Crawford was booked into jail on multiple counts which included drug possession with intent to distribute, possession of drugs within 1,000 feet of a school or park and child abuse.
