It’s exciting to see all of the annual fireworks sales tents springing up all over town; however Owasso Police wish to remind everyone that discharging fireworks, which make noise and/or are not stationary, inside City Limits is illegal.
Fireworks LEGAL to discharge would include sparklers, fountains, pinwheels and other fireworks that are stationary AND do not make noise. Residents may call the non-emergency line, 918-272-2244, to report fireworks discharge and officers can issue citations for any violation of the Fireworks Ordinance.
While sales tents are positioned in areas all around the city, there are no fireworks stands inside the actual City Limits. The official City Fireworks Display, scheduled for Tuesday, July 4th, is a legal event sanctioned and approved by the Owasso City Council. Let’s all have a safe, fun and responsible Independence Day!
