In response to the ongoing and increasing number of requests from citizens and motorists to address traffic safety issues and prevent speed related collisions in the Highway 20 corridor of northern Owasso, between US169 and N 145th E Ave, Owasso Police conducted another traffic safety initiative in that area this morning.
Officers stopped dozens of motorists traveling between 15 and 31MPH OVER the posted 45MPH speed limit on this busy stretch of road.
While traffic signals are planned, in the meantime Officers will continue to work speed enforcement in this area due to the excessive number of collisions reported in that stretch. Motorists are urged to PLEASE strictly adhere to the posted speed limits in this area in order to help us prevent injury, sometimes life-threatening, collisions.
