02/25/2019 – Owasso Show Choir competed in the Lone Star Show Choir Invitational last weekend. This Invitational is the largest Show Choir competition in Texas.
Gabby King (Senior) won Best Overall Performer. Gabby will be heading to Berklee College of Music in Boston in the Fall. Ezriel Graham (Freshman) won Best Female Vocalist. Their teacher is Amanda Foyil.
The Owasso High School choirs are a dynamic group of young singers who represent our community at various events during the school year. The Voice of Owasso consists of seven choirs: Treble Choir, Tenor/Bass Choir, Concert Choir, Chorale, Master’s Choir, Show Choir, and Jazz Choir. Students perform a wide variety of musical styles.
The high school choirs consistently receive superior ratings at district and state contests. The choirs perform a fall concert, winter concert, contest concert and Pops concert during the school year. The choirs have performed in many cities including Washington DC, Orlando, Branson, Chicago, San Antonio and most recently on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship and at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
The choirs are directed by Mindy Bettridge,Tricia Wynn, Evelyn Kwanza and Amanda Foyil.
