12/31/2024 – Premium Brands Holdings Corp., a leading company in the food industry, is enhancing its portfolio with three significant acquisitions. Announced on December 30, the company has acquired NSP Quality Meats based in Owasso, Oklahoma; Casa Di Bertacchi, located in Vineland, New Jersey; and Italia Salami from Guelph, Ontario. These additions reflect the company’s strategic focus on strengthening its market position and expanding its capabilities.

NSP Quality Meats specializes in cooked and deli meats, operating facilities in Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas. Casa Di Bertacchi is renowned for its cooked protein products, while Italia Salami is recognized for manufacturing high-quality Italian salami. Together, these businesses bring valuable expertise and resources to Premium Brands.

George Paleologou, President and CEO of Premium Brands, expressed his enthusiasm about the acquisitions, stating, “We are very pleased to welcome NSP, Casa, and Italia into our ecosystem and to be partnering with the management teams of these well-known and long-established businesses.”

The total cost of the three acquisitions amounts to $66 million. According to Paleologou, NSP and Casa will significantly bolster Premium Brands’ branded cooked protein initiatives in the U.S. by providing additional production capacity and improving market reach. He added, “These businesses will also enhance our Specialty Foods Group’s ability to mitigate potential border and tariff-related risks.”

While the Italia Salami acquisition is smaller in scale, it holds strategic importance. The addition will support Premium Brands’ Concord business by offering local production capabilities to expand its Marcangelo-branded Italian charcuterie line.

In related news, Premium Brands also announced the sale and leaseback of Hempler’s recently expanded deli meats production facility in Washington. This transaction generated approximately $68 million in gross proceeds, further strengthening the company’s financial position.
