Philip Drew McCort was born September 28, 1960, in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, to James Earl McCort and Claribel Delph McCort. He died Monday, September 12, 2022, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 61 years. Phil was reared and educated in Kansas City, Missouri, and was a graduate of Tri-City Christian School. He continued his education at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting. He was married June 6, 1993, in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, to Daylyn Patton. Phil spent most of his professional career as a certified public accountant, beginning with Bailey, Vaught, Robertson and Company in Dallas, Texas, then Joyce Law Firm in Tulsa, and finishing with Conner and Winters, LLP, in Tulsa from where he retired. Phil was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Texas Society of CPA’s. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes, especially watching his beloved Baylor Bears’ sporting events. He also enjoyed business research and tracking the stock market. He was an avid reader and loved taking rides on his bicycle.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnnie Earl McCort and Jeff McCort.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Graveside service will be held 3:00 p.m., Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with Pastor Matt Thomason officiating. A Celebration of Phil’s Life will follow at the Stokely Event Center in Tulsa.
