Ralph Wallace Martin was born April 1, 1930, to Leonard Edward and Alice Audie (Pittman) Martin. He died Monday, March 2, 2015, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 84 years. Ralph was reared and educated in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and was a graduate of East Central High School. He was a veteran of the armed forces having served his country honorably with the United States Navy. He was married September 1, 1951, in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, to Colet Jeanne Marlar. Ralph spent much of his working life as a construction superintendent. He previously worked several years as a truck driver. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes, but was a true rodeo cowboy and loved working with horses. He loved to ride and trade horses and was exceptional at training horses as well.
Loving family members include: Two sons and daughters-in-law; Skip and Lana Martin, of Owasso Mike and Marilyn Martin, of Collinsville Daughter and son-in-law; Pamela and Stanley Pilgrim, of Claremore Nine grandchildren 13 great grandchildren And a great great grandson He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Colet, granddaughter, Ashley Martin, and great grandson, Cody Brown. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 Thursday, March 5, 2015, at First Christian Church in Owasso with Pastor Charlie Curran officiating. Committal services and interment will follow at Green Acres Memorial Gardens in rural Owasso. The family requests memorial contributions be made to First Christian Church, in memory of Ralph Martin, 10100 North Garnett Road, Owasso, Oklahoma, 74055.
