Reba Hoot, longtime Owasso resident, was born December 19, 1925, in Alto, Texas. She died Friday, March 6, 2015, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 89 years. Reba was reared and educated at Alto and was a graduate of Alto High School. She was married September 7, 1946, in Houston, Texas, to Marvin W. Hoot. She spent most of her working life in a variety of secretarial positions. Reba was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Owasso. She particularly enjoyed listening to gospel music. She enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening, especially with her flowers, and maintaining bird houses for her Martin’s. She was also involved in square dancing and spending time with her friends.
Loving family members include: Two sons; John Hoot and his wife Cheryl, of Owasso David Hoot, of Tulsa Grandson; Justin Hoot and his wife Hannah, of West Asia Brother; Charles Moseley, of Sulfur, Louisiana Sisters-in-law; Bessie Moseley, of Houston, Texas Jenny Caldwell and her husband Jim, of Evergreen, Texas She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Marvin, and a brother, H.C. Moseley. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 1015, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at the First United Methodist Church in Owasso with Pastor Chuck Horton officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Gary Moseley, Michael Moseley, Harvey Young, Tom Caldwell, and Ron Hoot. Honorary casket bearers will be Roger Hoot, Stan Hoot, Greg Moseley, Scott Moseley, and Mark Moseley. Committal services and interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Owasso. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 13800 East 106th Street North, Owasso, Oklahoma, 74055.
