Rebecca Ann Corry, resident of Owasso for over 26 years, passed from this life on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 in Tulsa at the age of 72 years. She was born January 7, 1944 at Atlanta, Texas to Walter Woodward and Hollie Bell (Lomas) Cruson. Rebecca was raised and received her education in both Bloomberg and Texarkana, Texas, graduating with the class of 1962 at Texas High School, Texarkana. On August 31, 1962, she and Tom Corry were united in marriage at Texarkana. To this union, two children were born. They first made their home in Texarkana before Tom joined the military, serving at various locations across the United States. Upon his discharge from the military, they moved to Monroe, LA were they lived for 20 years. They have made Owasso home since 1989. Rebecca worked for State Farm Insurance Company as an Underwriter for 38 years, retiring in 2004. She had currently been employed at the Dollar Tree Store. Rebecca loved reading, her two boxers but most importantly being with her family, especially her granddaughter.
Those that survive and hold many cherished memories include her husband Tom of the home; children – Sandra (Sandy) Jackson and Bryan Corry, both of Owasso; her granddaughter Morgan Jackson of Owasso; Siblings – Loretta Turner and husband Bobby of Aubry, Texas and Jim Cruson and wife Rose of Texarkana, TX; a sister-in-law Libby Parish and husband David of Huntington, TX and three nieces – Emily, Danielle and Gabe; and a nephew Kyle. Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents.
Services for Rebecca will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 15, 2016 in the Chapel of Mowery Funeral Service with Rev. Doug Gregg officiating. There will be a visitation for friends Monday evening from 6-8pm at Mowery Funeral Service. At her request, cremation will take place following the funeral services.
