12/16/2017 – After nearly 22 years with the Tulsa Police Department, Dan Miller announced that he turned in his retirement paperwork Friday, after accepting a position with the City of Owasso. Miller will be filling the roll of Owasso Emergency Management Coordinator, and stated he was “looking forward to this awesome new opportunity.” –
Dan is a veteran Tulsa Police Officer, where most of his service was spent on night patrol in north Tulsa. Dan is a nationally recognized State of Oklahoma Council of Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET) instructor, and one of five individuals in the state credentialed as a Type 3 Incident Commander allowed to manage response and recovery during a natural or man-made disaster. In 2016, Miller also through his hat in the ring for Tulsa County Sheriff.
He will be replacing Cliff Motto, who retired from this position earlier this year.
Miller said his last day on the books with Tulsa Police Department will be January 31, 2018.
