Richard Allen Edmisten was born on January 6, 1938, in Barnsdall, Oklahoma to Clarence Richard Edmisten and Hermel Janine (Hinkle) Edmisten. He passed from this life on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at his home in Owasso at the age of 86 years. Richard was raised and educated in Tulsa and graduated with the Webster High School Class of 1955. He then served his country honorably in the United States Navy and played trumpet in the Navy Band. Richard was honorably discharged at the rank of Musician 3rd Class (MU3). He was married on June 3, 1960, in Red Fork, Oklahoma to Norma Lee Edmisten. Richard spent most of his working life as a computer manager with Blue Cross Blue Shield in Tulsa for almost 20 years. He enjoyed photography and was the owner of “Special Events Photography” for 15 years. In his spare time, Richard enjoyed a variety of past times such as golfing, bowling, and officiating high school and college football and baseball, and was a part of the officiating crew for the 1983 “Oil Bowl” in Wichita Falls, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Hermel, his wife Norma, and his granddaughter, Jamie.
