Robert Lee Elston, Jr., resident of Owasso, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at his home at the age of 65 years. Robert was born in Tulsa, OK to Robert Lee and Barbara Emerine (Eskridge) Elston, Sr. He was raised and received his education in Tulsa, later attending Northeastern Oklahoma State University in Tahlequah studying Criminal Justice. On December 31, 1973, Robert and Arlene McMurray were united in marriage at Ponchatoula, LA. To this union, two daughters were born. Robert worked as a self-employed automotive tool distributor for Matco Tools. He enjoyed fishing, handgun competitions and drag racing. He was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Collinsville.
Those that survive and hold many cherished memories include his wife of 43 years – Arlene; his daughters – Amy Lee Elston of Frisco, Texas and Sara Elizabeth Williams and husband Nathan of Alcoa, Tennessee; a granddaughter Caroline Saxon Williams; two brothers Arthur (Rusty) Elston and wife Pamela, Ron Elston and wife Pam and his sister Cherye Elston Bell and husband Richard. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Judith Elston Parrett.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation will take place and a Celebration of his Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at St. Therese Catholic Church in Collinsville. Robert’s ashes will be placed in the St. Therese Cemetery Columbarium. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso. www.moweryfs.com
