Roger Allen Thompson was born September 8, 1942, in Girard, Kansas, to Oswell David and Mable Mildred Rathbun Thompson. He died Monday, April 3, 2017, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 74 years. Roger was reared and educated in Owasso, Oklahoma, and graduated with the Owasso High School Class of 1960 and was an excellent trumpet player. He continued his education attending Southwestern State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma, and received his pharmaceutical degree. He was a veteran of the armed forces having served his country honorably with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was married August 24, 1963, in Weatherford to Jacqueline Williams. They made their home in Owasso where Roger began his work as a pharmacist with Soc’s Drug Store. After living in Colorado for several years, he and Jacqueline returned to Owasso where Roger purchased and owned the drug store which was known as Owasso Drug. He later owned and operated Pharmacy Providers in Owasso from 200 to 2010. Roger was a member of First Baptist Church in Owasso and the Owasso Masonic Lodge #545. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes including bowling and listening to classical music. He also enjoyed action movies such and the Dirty Harry series with Clint Eastwood and the Death Wish series with Charles Bronson. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his twin brother, Robert Thompson, and twin daughters at birth.
Funeral service will be held 1:30 Friday, March 7, 2017, at First Baptist Church in Owasso with Pastor Chris Wall officiating. Final private family disposition will be held at a later date. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Roger’s memory to First Baptist Church-Mission Owasso, 13307 East 96th Street North, Owasso, Oklahoma, 74055. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
