Ruby “Evelyn” Gosney was born on June 8, 1928, in Miami, Oklahoma to Dan Raymond Speer and Maudie Virgie (Padgett) Speer. She passed from this life on Friday, February 23, 2024, in Owasso, Oklahoma at the age of 95 years. Evelyn was raised and educated in the Miami area and graduated with the Blue Jacket High School Class of 1947. She was married on December 21, 1947, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Ernest William Gosney. Evelyn spent most of her working life in the home raising her two children, Danny and Sandra. She was a proud member of Trinity Holiness Assembly of God Church in Owasso for over 50 years. In her spare time, Evelyn enjoyed a variety of past times such as gardening, quilting, going to church, cooking, canning, and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Maudie, husband, Ernest, two brothers, Arnold and Norman, sister, Barbara, son, Danny, and her daughter, Sandra.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 1, 2024, at Trinity Holiness Assembly of God Church in Owasso. Interment will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
