Ruth Eileen Baker, resident of Tulsa, moved from this life to her heavenly home on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at the age of 86. Ruth was born September 21, 1929, in Sperry, OK to William Isaac and Martha (Edwards) Payne. She was raised and received her education in the Sperry-Turley area. On March 18, 1947, she and Owen R. Baker were united in marriage in Tulsa. Ruth began in ministry by teaching women the Biblical principles of a strong, Godly family; and she ministered throughout the United States with this message. In 1978, Ruth and her husband Owen started their ministry as missionaries in the Caribbean Islands and Guyana. In 1980, they traveled to the Philippine Islands where they established Antioch Bible Training Center in Angeles City. In 1988, Owen graduated to heaven. Ruth continued with the vision they had together in the Philippines of raising up “God’s Finest” to send to the world. Ruth has many sons and daughters in the faith that are ministering not only in the Philippines, but also in many nations around the world.
Ruth is survived by her daughter-in-law Jody Baker of Chouteau, OK; grandchildren – William Tye Baker, Josie Fe Baker Dixon and fiance’ Josh Vaughn; great grandchildren Jaiden Rylee Dixon, Kayden David Baker, Jamison Michael Vaughn and Journey Raine Vaughn due to arrive in September of 2016. Also surviving is her extended family – Steve and Linda Rhinehart and their children Hannah & Dallas Vang, and their son Jonah Lee; Miriam Rinehart and fiance’ Thomas Gunter and Noah Rinehart; David and Carlina Griffith and children Elijah and Emily Michaels, Elisha Michaels and his daughter Lailani Robyn Michaels; Hilda Santamonica Aguilar and husband Dante’ and daughter Angelica, of Quezon City, Philippines. Included is a host of spiritual sons and daughters around the world. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband Owen R. Baker; son William David Baker; sister Opal Payne and brother William Payne.
A memorial service to celebrate Ruth’s life will be held on Friday, June 17, 2016, at 1:00 p.m., Faith Center Foursquare Church in Tulsa. Her Pastor, Danny Borrell, will officiate.
