02/16/2019 – Schlotzky’s is moving back to Owasso. Being a huge Schlotzky’s fan, these are words I have hoped to say for several years.
A chance sighting of a Schlotzky’s Jeep in Owasso this week led to the confirmation that wishes do come true, and they are indeed coming back.
Local franchise owner Darin Frantz tells us they have not decided on a location yet, but hope to narrow it down soon, and be open by fall.
So many people, including myself, were saddened when the franchise closed here a few years back. The closing was not due to lack of business, but because Schlotzsky’s was going through some organizational issues during that period, and because of that, several stores closed nationally. That is now behind them, and with this new branding, the great Schlotzsky’s flavor we all have known is back and is better than ever.
The “Austin Eater” is Schlotzsky’s re-branding themselves. They still offer the same great food with some excellent additions. The look and feel of the restaurant has been completely redesigned to mimic the store’s roots in Austin, Texas better. It has more of an edgy, bold color atmosphere with several seating options. They now offer beer and wine and provide live entertainment on certain weekend nights.
There are some fun promotions planned for the Owasso opening, and we will bring you that info as the opening draws closer.
So, sit back, try to relax as you eagerly await their grand opening. Look over the sample menu below so you will be prepared when Schlotsky’s returns to Owasso.
