Roland Sedlmeier, age 49, died September 20, 2015, in Montgomery, Texas. He was born August 15, 1966, in Ingolstadt, Germany, where he served proudly in the special forces of the German Army. He then became a pilot which brought him to Canada and the United States. He served as a missionary pilot for Mission Aviation Fellowship in Kenya where he met Mendy.
Melinda Joan Sedlmeier (Mendy), age 42, died September 20, 2015, in Montgomery, Texas. She was born January 9, 1973, in Tulsa, Oklahoma and she studied accounting at John Brown University. Then worked in Tulsa until she was called to the mission field. Mendy served God as an IMB missionary in Kenya and later was seconded to AIM AIR.
Roland and Mendy were married July 17, 2008, by Mendy’s father, Johnny Nantz, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They returned to Kenya after to continue serving. This is where they started their family.
Harley Erich Sedlmeier, age 6, died September 20, 2015, in Montgomery, Texas. He was born May 8, 2009, in Nairobi, Kenya. Harley was enrolled at Madeley Ranch Elementary School in Montgomery, Texas, where he was in First grade. He also was involved in many children’s activities at church. His kindergarten teacher asked Harley what he wanted to be when he grew up. He said, “I want to be on the Avengers Squad!” We have no doubt Jesus has put him on a squad.
Sofie Ana Sedlmeier, age 4, died September 20, 2015, in Montgomery, Texas. She was born November 9, 2010, in Wooster, Ohio. Our little princess loved her stuffed animals, puppies and playing with her brother. Sofie would play “make believe” for hours but always enjoyed getting outside as well. She was involved in Awana’s at church and loved singing praises to Jesus. We know that she is still singing in heaven today.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 25, 2015, in the Chapel of Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 26, 2015, at First Baptist Church, 403 South Cincinnati Avenue, Tulsa, OK 74103 with Pastor Deron Spoo officiating. Committal services and interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso. www.moweryfs.com
