Sylvia Cecilia SmithSylvia Cecilia Smith was born on August 25, 1937, in Throckmorton, Texas to Cecil Rogers and Pearl (Roberts) Rogers. She passed from this life on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years. Sylvia was raised and educated in Throckmorton and attended Throckmorton High School. She was married on March 5, 1954, in Throckmorton to James Harold Smith. Sylvia spent most of her working life in the home raising her three sons. She loved playing the piano at church and was a longtime faithful member of First Baptist Church in Olney, Texas until moving to Norman, Oklahoma where she attended Bethel Baptist Church. In her spare time, Sylvia enjoyed sewing and was an accomplished and talented seamstress.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Pearl, brother, Stuart, and he son, Rodney.
 
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at Elbert Cemetery in Elbert, Texas with Pastor Jimmy Rogers officiating.
