01/19/2018 – 38yo Micheal Evans of Talala was arrested for DUI, that led to a crash involving serious bodily injury.
Owasso Police report that Friday evening around 7:30pm, Evans failed to slow for vehicles that had stopped, and others that were slowing for a minor collision that occurred at the 7200 block of southbound Highway 169.
Witnesses said Evans collided with a stopped car at full highway speeds. That collision sent the car across the median into the northbound side of the highway. Evans’ truck then collided with 3 other vehicles that were also stopped for the original crash.
The driver of the car had to be extricated, as he was trapped inside his vehicle for several minutes while firefighters worked to free him. The driver received serious injuries as a result of the accident, while others were minor injuries.
Five cars were towed from the two related collisions. Southbound lanes of Highway 169 were closed for approximately one hour.
Evans was also transported to a local hospital, then taken in to custody.
