Teresa Jo Bass was born February 25, 1959, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Jerry Lee Johnson and Velma Lee Johnson. She died Monday, January 10, 2022, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 62 years. Teresa was reared and educated in Tulsa and graduated with the Daniel Webster High School Class of 1978. She married her high school sweetheart April 13, 1979, in Tulsa, to Randy Bass. They we inseparable and where you found one you found the other. Teresa always said she married her best friend and they spent over 42 years together. She recently had worked as a patient service representative with OSU Behavioral Health in Tulsa. She had also with Owasso Public Schools as a bus driver and considered the kids her babies and her babies certainly loved her. She and Randy had made their home in Owasso, Oklahoma, since 2003. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes especially sewing. She also enjoyed watching her favorite soap operas and her Lifetime movies. Teresa loved her grandsons and was always in attendance to watch their games. She embraced her role as a grandmother and was affectionately known as “Nana”. She was a member of the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America. She was people person and would give you the shirt off her back or the last dollar in her pocket. She had a smile that could light up a room and a laugh that was contagious. Purple was her favorite color and if she wasn’t wearing something in tie-dye, she was definitely in something purple.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her adoptive father, Acey Henry Newman, Jr.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 14, 2022, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Reverend Kevin Laufer officiating. Committal service and interment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Owasso. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
