Thomas “Tom” Edward Hoeft was born May 23, 1932, in Grand Island, Nebraska, to John F. and Clara Alma (Horstman) Hoeft. He died Sunday, April 6, 2014, in Owasso at the age of 81. Tom was reared and educated in Grand Island, Nebraska, graduating from Grand Island High School in 1950. He continued his education, receiving a bachelors degree inbusiness while living in Hastings, Nebraska. On September 20, 1980, Tom married Betty McKellips in North Platte, Nebraska. They made their home in Nebraska where they raised their children. Tom spent most of his working life as the owner of a floor covering shop. He enjoyed traveling in his motor home, bowling, golfing, going to his cabin at the lake and was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker Football fan.
