Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports an accident on HWY 20 Monday evening sends three to area hospitals. OHP reports at 8:30pm Monday evening David L Smith, 41 of Owasso was driving a 1997 Toyota westbound just west of Keetonville Hill when for unknown reasons went left of center striking a SUV head on driven eastbound by Phillip J Schermer, 57 of Owasso .
Smith was transported by Airvac to a Tulsa Hospital. He was admitted in stable condition with internal and external trunk injuries and leg injuries.
Schermer and his passenger Anna Schermer 59 of Owasso were trapped in their vehicle for 25 minutes before being freed by Limestone and Owasso Fire. Phillip Schermer was transported by Pafford Ambulance to an area hospital where he was treated and released. Anna Schermer was transported by Owasso Medics to a Tulsa hospital where she was admitted in stable condition with internal and external trunk injuries as well as arm and leg injuries.
Seatbelts were equipped and in use in both vehicles. The cause of the accident is still unknown.
