Velma Mae Davis Medlock was born October 13, 1933, in Humphrey, Arkansas, to Grover Preston Cross and Ollie Roswell Cross. She died Monday, June 10, 2024, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 90 years. Velma was married December 3, 1951, to Richard Davis. She spent most of her working life as a homemaker and caring for her children. She had attended the Church of Christ most of her life. After Richard’s passing, she married William Medlock on June 8, 1996.
Velma enjoyed a variety of pastimes, especially shopping. Always looking for a good bargain, she shopped garage sales and thrift stores, as well as buying jewelry on the shopping channel. She also enjoyed time spent traveling, and of course playing BINGO. She dearly loved her grandchildren who affectionately knew her as “MaMa”.

Monica Smith and husband Robert, of Owasso, Oklahoma
Tony D. Wadley and wife Crystal, of Owasso, Oklahoma
Melanie Creek and husband Daniel, of Tulsa, Oklahoma
Derek Wadley and wife Victoria, of Skiatook, Oklahoma

Sister; Norma Lee, of Bowie, Texas
And a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Richard Davis, second husband, William Medlock, seven brothers, five sisters, and great great granddaughter, Taylor.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 17, 2024, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel with Amber Short officiating. Committal service and interment will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
