06/21/2019 – Thursday evening at approximately 5:40 pm, a woman was driving eastbound on 76th Street North near the west service road when her vehicle was rear-ended by a pick-up truck. Her family tells us the driver of the truck said they should pull in to the Waffle House nearby. She pulled in to waffle house, the other driver fled, and police were called.
About 1.5 hours later, the driver of the truck, Justin Templeton, 58 of Bartlesville returned to the Waffle House Parking lot. He called Owasso Police stating he had been in an accident and the other party never pulled in to Waffle House to exchange information.
Owasso Police tell us that they discovered Templeton had driven to his home in Bartlesville and put the correct vehicle tag (which had an expired decal) BACK on his truck and removed the false one he had on there at the time of the accident.
Templeton was arrested and is in the Tulsa County Jail, charged with Hit and Run Property Damage, with a bond amount of $5,000.
