Volunteers AND Special Needs Athletes are Needed for Oklahoma Olympics. This is the second year the event is being held.
The Oklahoma Olympics is an event to showcase all special needs athletes in Oklahoma. It is designed to allow ANY special needs athlete the ability to compete. There is no cost to participate for any special needs athletes.
When: Sunday, October 27
Packet Pick-Up: 2:15 PM – 3 PM
Event: 3 PM – 5:30 PM
Where: Owasso High School Football Field
The event will be held on Sunday, October 27 at 3pm. They are asking athletes be registered before October 15th. They would like to provide a shirt and medal to all participants and ask that you register early to give them an opportunity to meet that goal. However, no special needs child will be turned away the day of the event.
Current Events include: Bocce ball, Softball throw, Standing long jump, 50yard dash and 100 yard dash
There is the possibility for more events based on the interest level and the ability of the track facility to host the event. Their hope is for every athlete to get to participate in at least one event.
