Thursday afternoon the Sperry Police Department arrested Cheryl LeeAnn Mills inside their city limits.
Mills, 23 of Claremore, was arrested after she was recognized from an Owassoisms report on Wednesday, regarding a young woman going door to door panhandling. Since Sunday, Owassoisms had received numerous reports of a young woman going door to door, asking for money for formula and diapers. If she was offered the items instead of cash she would decline. At one stop she left her drivers license with someone who gave her money, promising to return to pay them back and retrieve her license. She did not. The story of why she needed the money changed at each stop. One reader snapped a photo of the car she was in, which was shared with our Facebook readers and resulted in it being spotted in Sperry this afternoon. She was also reported in Collinsville and Oologah Wednesday evening.
Mills is currently in the Tulsa County Jail, charged with the following:
